Based in the West of Scotland, Gillian works in many areas of Scotland. Her naturally caring nature, allow her to compose and conduct highly personal ceremonies and assist families through the difficult process of saying goodbye to a loved one, whilst allowing that life to be genuinely celebrated.
Gillian has been involved in helping people for most of her working life and, through her own personal experiences, has a real understanding of the different ways that grief can affect the families and friends of a person they have lost.
She returned to Scotland at the beginning of 2012, after nearly 7 years in Spain, where she taught Business English and Presentation Skills to the medical profession. Additionally, she has many years of experience working for the government, in a training and advisory capacity and also in an events organisational role for a major charity.
In her spare time, Gillian is a volunteer guide for the National Trust for Scotland, which combines her love of art, historical houses and talking to visitors!
Working as a Celebrant with Essential Funerals, brings all her communication and people skills together in a very professional package.
